Five young primary teachers, Late Shri.Damodar Sadashiv Karambelkar, Late Shri.Krishnaji Balwant Dongre, Late Shri.Ramkrishna Bhikaji Kulkarni, Late Shri.Ramchandra Gopal Deo and Late Shri.Krishnaji Govind Ukidwe, taking an inspiration from Great Nibandhamalakar Late Vishnushastri Chiplunkar started the Nootan Marathi Vidyalaya, a Primary School on 1st January 1883 at the Morobadada Wada at Shaniwar Peth in Pune.
All these dedicated teachers had just completed their training and decided to serve the nation under the guidance from Lokmanya B.G.Tilak, Prin.G.G.Agarkar and famous novelist H.N.Apte

The N. M. V. Junior College was established on 14th July 1975. The main aims and objectives of junior college are - To impart value based quality education at +2 level in Science, Commerce, MCVC (Minimum Competency Vocational Course), To implement Co-curricular and Extra-curricular programs for developing total personality of students.
